Wild RootsDuvall, WA
Who, what, why, and “are you serious?”

About the farm.

Wild Roots Farm is a small, learning, regenerative farm in Duvall, WA — on a piece of land that has very firm opinions about water. We bought it in August 2025 with a lot of conviction and almost no experience, and we’re learning as we go. So far, so good. Mostly.

our quiet (very loose) mission

What we’re trying to build.

A small farm with good animals, honest stories, real food, and enough room for people we love to come hang out. We’d like the land to be healthier when we leave it than when we found it. We’d like to host things, eventually — gatherings, workshops, slow meals. We’d like to sell a few good things, eventually — eggs, honey, the occasional something from the garden — when we can do it without overpromising.

We are not in a hurry. The cows taught us that.

the team

Meet the humans.

The four-leggers get most of the press. Here’s who’s actually doing the work.

  • S
    founder · optimist · kayaker

    Snoopy

The one who said “let’s just go look at it.” Writes most of the founder updates. Mostly responsible for the goats.

  • K
    farm manager · bee whisperer

    Kappie

Runs the day-to-day. Knows where every gate latch is and which ones are lying about being closed. Writes the field notes.

  • J
    farm manager · pig manager

    Joe

Builds the things, fixes the things, and is single-handedly responsible for Bowser still being on the property.

Kappie and Joe are the reason this works. We just write about it.— Snoopy

If you see a post on the blog under Kappie’s or Joe’s name — that’s really them. They’ll be writing more often as we grow. (We built the site so they can post directly, no middleman required.)

where we are headed

What’s coming, eventually.

  • someday

    A small farm store

Honey, eggs, jam — only when we have enough to share, and never before.

  • brewing

    Friends-only gatherings

Bonfires, harvest dinners, the occasional workshop. Friends of the Farm hear first.

  • always

    More stories

The blog will keep filling up. New voices, more animals, more weather.
